Heavenly Oberon...a chilling experience!
Yes, it was cold. It was a sunny weekend and shockingly crisp, clean, fresh air met our lungs the moment we got out of the car on our way to the front door of the Casey's Farmstay property. The house instantly feels like home, is set on a ridge, overlooking the most spectacular granite country and is cosily and centrally heated by a log fire fuelled stove.
On the edge of the Blue Mountains, this place is blessed with amazing rolling hills and valleys and a view framed by blue tinged highland ranges in the distance. A few thick furred cattle graze happily in the adjoining paddocks. The view alone instills calm, but it is the quiet, disrupted by the occasional garbling of magpies and the kookaburra's call that does the trick. This place is as peaceful as you'd want it.
I've owned my Canon since before Christmas and have taken a few thousand shots by now. The zoom lens is my constant companion, but I had never ever heard its motor buzz before... Isn't it amazing how much background noise we are putting up with in our every day lives. That constant hum of city life just falls away and reveals peace and quiet....the rat race is passing us by and it's time to simply chill out!
Here are some more images from the weekend...
I am looking forward to my next visit.

Wow, what great photos, Taina. I am jealous. Oberon is suchj a lovely area and there are some great riding roads around there too.
Thank you for the compliment, Fezzick!
We should organise a ride up there some time soon.
Mmm, I know a great "loop" that includes lots of those roads. And we should do a "proper" Wollombi run too. Oh, and you need to RIDE more so that your battery doesn't go flat!!!
:):):):):)
Yep! You have the right idea!
