The Return- Stopover in Dubai

“Breakfast!” I exclaimed with a certain sense of jubilation, as the man at the reception handed me the voucher. The Millennium Hotel in Dubai does do things generously. Just as I’ve been told…

Clearing Passport control was a bit of a hassle, but nothing compared to Thailand. That reminds me…I did not lock that suitcase of mine and must remember to check it before leaving for customs in Sydney, as I do not wish to turn into another Ms Corby.

Row 17 has been a god-sent. I love sitting there, right behind the bulkhead, straight in front of the curtain to Business class. It’s a long haul seat I can advise anyone with an average length of legs to insist upon.

This first part of the journey has been blessed with four G&Ts and a fine couple of hours of sleep. What more can one ask for?

Dubai is a five hour stopover and Emirates Airlines takes pity on wary travellers having to do the time-warp at the airport They throw in a hotel for free. It makes all the difference....fresh towels...a nice shower (although water is a luxury, it seems to flow freely and without any apparent signage of wanting me to limit its use).

I sure hope that they will wake me in time to get on that flight in the morning…

Nighty-nite!
