Heels 'n Wheels @ Frasers

Last Wednesday evening I had booked a spot at Frasers Women's Night to join in the fun. Unfortunately work commitments made it difficult to get there in time to participate in the workshops, but it was good to catch up with some of the other IR women and take a seat on a couple of bikes I like...just for size and feel...

There were three Ducatis I liked to try on. An ST (but unfortunately it's yellow) and a couple of red numbers...a motard and a sportsbike. Hmmmm! I also wondered how comfortable DaMan would be on the back and when the friendly sales person told me to hop on the back whilst he holds the bike, I must say I felt a little awkward, but once I got over my never-again-a-pillion phobia, it felt quite comfy on the back of the motard at the very least. The ST wins hands down on that score.

The sales person explained to me what I have to do to go test riding with him. "Take it out for an hour or so"

I'm still a little nervous about that. Have never felt comfortable about riding a bike I don't own. Yet, so many people I know endeavour to make that their weekend entertainment.

One of my buddies told me that he always comes undone when he goes on test rides. He reckons he always wants the bike so much more after he's ridden it. I guess once you've looked at it long enough, compared the stats and accepted the price tag, it's harder to say no when you also like the feel of it.

Well, Frasers motto is "The right bike for the right person". I like it.

In the past I gave the place a wide berth. The price tags where a little more than I can get away with and the show room somehow as glitzy. It's nice to have met the staff on a more personal level. Next time I'll walk in the door I know who to ask for...

Hey, and did I mention that there was beer, vino and pizza too? Pitty... I was on a diet...
