Bundanon is located about 20 kms West of Nowra. Part of the trip is on a dirtroad and takes us deep down into the coastal bush. It's open to the general public on Sundays and visitors can take the tour or linger on the property, which is rich in sculpture and painted works. It is a peaceful place, which took us away from the hussle and bustle of our daily demons and confronted us with beauty found only in nature.
There is for instance Boyd's last painting sitting casually on an easel smack bang in the middle of his paint speckled studio and the eager eye discovers thumbprints on his stereo speakers and the record player's volume button makes for a fine collection of colour remnants originally used in his striking and highly symbolic art works.
The property features several smaller buildings and a newer section, which houses the current Artist in residence. This is also a place for students on camp and teachers who wish to attend a retreat. Courses and workshops are offered on a regular basis.
