I finally got it together to drag my sorry butt up to the Pieshop, where my Illawarrariders.com T-Shirt was patiently waiting for me. It was one of those will-it-pour-or-won't-it days, but I had not been out for ages and the family felt it. The frustration level had just hit 11 and that was that!
"Right! I'm getting out of here!"
The dark cloud formation had covered the top of the table land and it was spilling towards the Valley just out of Albion Park. I had no raingear on board, but I did not worry about getting wet. It's only 3/4 of an hour to the next hot shower and the leather surely dries by next Thursday, for when I had planned my next ride.
There was a warning of slimey road conditions posted up on our regular thread, but that was only under some thick foilage and in musty place where the 'sun don't shine'. So I had the Macquarry Pass to myself...all the way up and later on all the way back down. I really enjoyed that I could do it in my own pace.
It was quite disappointing to see one other bike up there. This has happened to me on a couple of other occasions as well, but this time it was in the middle of the day. Sunday of all days! Where was everybody??????
(Later I found out that Joey got my message whilst riding into Kangaroo Valley... and when I got home I had locked myself out on the second storey verandah, waiting for two hours until the man and the girl arrived back from the pictures. Arrrgh!)
Ahhh well, good news: the T-Shirt I had ordered does fit me and I'll be wearing it tomorrow when it's time for another much anticipated 'Harry's Cafe de Wheels' ride to Wooloomooloo.
Sorry guys, no pictures...
